Figs with cheese ice cream

Gelato (plural: gelati) is the Italian word for ice cream, derived from the Latin word "gelātus" (meaning frozen). Gelato is made with milk, cream, various sugars, and flavoring such as fresh fruit and nut purees. Cheese ice cream is ice cream with cheese flavor. The fig is an incredibly luscious fruit, with a delicate aroma and sweet flavour. Originally from Asia, figs are now grown across the Mediterranean and there are hundreds of different varieties, grouped into four main colours: white, green, red and purple/black. Figs can be eaten fresh or dried, and used in jam-making.
