Avocado and grapefruit salad

Avocado is not sweet, but rich, and distinctly yet subtly flavored, and of smooth, almost creamy texture. It is used in both savory and sweet dishes, though in many countries not for both. The avocado is very popular in vegetarian cuisine, as substitute for meats in sandwiches and salads because of its high fat content.

Generally, avocado is served raw, though some cultivars can be cooked for a short time without becoming bitter.

Ingredients

1-2 ripe avocados
2 grapefruits
100 grams of lamb's lettuce (or nut lettuce or corn salad)
1/2 lime
1-2 scallions (or green onions)
1 tablespoon of cardamom
1 teaspoon of peppercorn
1/2 teaspoon of allspice (or Jamaica pepper or pimenta or pimento or English pepper or newspice)
2 tablespoons of honey
3 tablespoons of olive oil
1/2 teaspoon of salt
